Return to the Red Bull Ring

Jordan King is set for the fifth round of the FIA Formula 2 season this weekend as he travels to the Red Bull Ring. Jordan holds fond memories of the Austrian track having picked up his maiden GP2 win there last year.

This season has seen the British driver has continue to impress in the Formula One feeder series, scoring points in the first seven races of the season. Jordan looked set to make it eight when he crossed the line in 4th place in Baku – only later to be disqualified for under pressure tyres.

Looking to return to point-scoring ways this weekend, the 2.68-mile track in Spielberg awaits for the Warwickshire-based driver. The track is a favourite amongst both fans and drivers, providing plenty of action with its three long straights that offer an array of overtaking opportunities.

Having scored points on each of his last three visits to the track, Jordan enters the weekend in a confident mood.

“It’s great to be going back to the Red Bull Ring. It is a track I have fond memories of and where I always seem to pick up good results. Taking my first GP2 win there last year was a special moment in my career and I hope we can be pushing at the front again this weekend. The season has gone well so far but now is where we want to really push on. We’ll be working hard from the first session and hopefully get our rewards.”

Track action in Spielberg starts on Friday with practice at 11:00 (BST). Races then follow on Saturday and Sunday, starting at 14:35 and 09:20 respectively.
