King set for Abu Dhabi finale

The final round of the 2019 FIA Formula Two takes place this weekend at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, and Jordan King will be looking to the year on a high at the season showdown.

Jordan’s return to the Formula One feeder series with MP Motorsport has seen the Brit regularly appear in the points-paying positions whilst also collecting two podium finishes on his way to 8th in the championship standings with two races still left to contest this weekend.

Jordan’s previous round in the 2019 season saw him endure a difficult trip to Sochi Autodrom, Russia, as problems in practice put Jordan and the team on the backfoot and he failed to score points on a race weekend for the first time in 2019.

Looking ahead to this weekend, Jordan will be hoping to end the year on a high at the 3.451-mile Yas Marina Circuit. Jordan’s last trip to the circuit came in 2017 where he was able to secure a top-8 finish in the feature race before starting the sprint race on reverse grid pole, which unfortunately ended in a retirement.

‘I’m excited to get back in the F2 car this weekend, Abu Dhabi is a special place to race so I will be looking to end the year positively. I think we’ve had a strong season and the team have done a fantastic job to be 6th in the Team’s Standings heading to Abu Dhabi. I’ve really enjoyed my return to the series and I’m extremely thankful to all of the team at MP Motorsport for their support. I’m glad I was able to repay them with a couple of trips to the podium and I’ll be giving my utmost to try to do the same again this weekend.”

Track action in Abu Dhabi gets started on Friday with practice at 07:30 (GMT) with qualifying following the same day at 15:00. The feature race takes place on Saturday at 14:45, with Sunday’s season-ending sprint race taking place at 09:30.
