King gets F2 season underway in Bahrain

Jordan King will make his return to the FIA Formula Two this weekend as the single-seater series gets started with the first round of the 2019 season at Sakhir International Circuit, Bahrain.

Making his return to the Formula One feeder series alongside his Indy 500 and WEC commitments, Jordan enters his fourth season in the GP2/F2 championship this week in Bahrain and will be looking to continue his strong form at the circuit as he rejoins MP Motorsport.

FInishing three of the four races that he has contested at the track inside the top-five places, twice with MP Motorsport, Jordan will be feeling confident as he heads to the 5.412kilomtre track to race the new Formula Two car for the first time. Jordan showcased his natural speed at Jérez last month in the official test as he set the fastest time in the final session and acquainted himself well with the new-spec Formula 2 car.

The Sakhir International Circuit always provides great racing and high amounts of overtaking, with the wind and fluctuating temperatures between sessions offering a unique set of challenges for the drivers and teams on setup.

Ready for the challenge ahead, Jordan is excited to get the season underway and hopes to pick up a great result in Bahrain.

“It’s going to be an interesting weekend. Although I have been here before there is still lots of new things to get my head around but I’m really excited to get stuck in and get a great result.”

Track action in Bahrain starts on Friday with the first of two practice sessions at 08:30 (GMT) with qualifying following on the same day at 11:50. Saturday’s hour-long feature race gets underway on Saturday at 10:10, with Sunday’s sprint race starting at 12:15 (BST).
