King reunites with Team LNT Ginetta in Bahrain
Date: 03 / 12 / 2019
Having enjoyed a successful LMP1 debut in China last month, Jordan King is excited to be reuniting with the British manufacturer as he retains his seat in the #5 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 AER car for the fourth round of the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship next weekend.
After gaining WEC experience last season in the LMP2 category, King gained his first taste of LMP1 machinery last time out as he helped the #5 Ginetta entry to a fourth-placed finish at the 4 Hours of Shanghai. With Egor Orudzhev sitting out the next round, King completes an all British line-up alongside his teammates Ben Hanley and Charlie Robertson.
With Bahrain marking the final round of the calendar year and King’s last competitive outing of 2019, the Brit is looking to end the year on a high and further demonstrate his abilities at the very highest level of endurance competition.
“Shanghai was an incredible experience and a great opportunity. I was happy with my personal performance even if penalties restricted our chances of claiming a podium finish. To be back in the saddle for this month’s visit to Bahrain is great news and I’m really thankful for Ginetta having me – I can’t wait to get back out there and show the massive potential that this team has.”
Unlike his outing at Shanghai, next weekend will not be the first time that King has taken to the Bahrain International Circuit. As recently as March, King found himself taking to the 3.363 mile circuit alongside his MP Motorsport teammates in FIA Formula Two. Enjoying a point-scoring weekend that time around, the 25-year-old is keen to end his year on a high next weekend.
“2019 has been a full-on year with a pretty varied range of competition. Alongside the Indy 500 and my Formula Two competition, I have loved the new challenges that the WEC has provided. The standard and competition is so high and that is what makes it so enthralling to be a part of. Teaming up with Ginetta has been a great way to end the year. There is so much potential in this car and we’ll be doing all we can to unlock that next weekend.”
