King hoping for more F2 success in Barcelona
Date: 09 / 05 / 2019
Jordan King will return to FIA Formula 2 duties this weekend, with his MP Motorsport outfit, as the Brit travels to Barcelona for the third round of the championship on the back of a stellar weekend in round two which saw the 25-year-old collect his first podium finish of the season.
Following a point scoring start in Bahrain, Jordan enjoyed a strong weekend in Baku as he picked up his first FIA Formula Two trophy on the season as he battled back from 16th place to claim an outstanding third place podium finish in the feature race in Azerbaijan.
King now travels to Spain for the third round of the season at the 4.655-kilometre Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The track, which is used for Formula One, Two and Three pre-season testing, has a variety of high and low-speed corners, which makes finding the right balance in the car all the more difficult and makes Friday’s session all the more important.
Currently sitting in seventh position in the championship, Jordan will be hoping for another strong weekend behind the wheel.
“I’m looking forward to getting back in the F2 car this weekend, especially after last time out in Baku. It was incredible to be back on the podium with MP Motorsport. Everyone has worked so hard for the podium, so it was great to be able to reward everyone and hopefully I’ll be able to do the same again this weekend!”
“It’s been a busy few weeks for me after competing in Spa on the weekend and Baku the week before, but I’m up for the challenge again this weekend in Barcelona and ready for a tough battle on track.”
Action in Barcelona begins with practice on Friday 10th May at 12:00 (BST), with qualifying taking place later in the day at 15:55. Saturday’s feature race will begin at 15:40, with Sunday’s sprint race scheduled for 10:30.
